Takehito Koganezawa
Takehito Koganezawa works with video, drawing, installation and performance—treating each as an equal means of expression. All of his works share a poetic approach to everyday occurrences and observation, an engagement with the issues of time and the void, as well as an underlying musicality.
Koganezawa lives and works in Hiroshima, Japan. He has exhibited internationally at institutions such as Haus am Waldsee, Germany; Langen Foundation, Germany; Mori Art Museum, Japan; Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art (MIMOCA), Japan; Museu de Arte Moderna São Paulo, Brazil; Hamburger Kunsthalle, Germany; Institute for Contemporary Art, London; and Haunch of Venison, London. He has exhibited nationally at the Queens Museum, New York; Institute of Visual Arts, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee; and Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago. He was awarded artist residencies at the Villa Aurora in Los Angeles; the Kea Island in Greece; India; and São Paulo. Koganezawa was born in Tokyo where he graduated from Musashino Art University.
