
Yu Sora
Born in Gyeonggi-do (South Korea) in 1987. Graduated from the Department of Sculpture at Hongik University (Seoul) in 2011. Completed the Master’s program in Sculpture at the Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts in 2020. She creates works using white cloth and black thread, such as embroidered two-dimensional works and three-dimensional installations. She participated in the Koganecho Bazaar in 2013, won the Excellence Award at the Tokyo Midtown Award in 2018, and participated in Roppongi Art Night in 2019. Her work was purchased and won the Mori Award at the 68th Tokyo University of the Arts Graduation Exhibition in 2020. She won the Grand Prix at the Sanwa Company Art Award in 2022. Recent major solo exhibitions include Mozuku, Eggs (Shiseido Gallery, Tokyo, 2023), BankART Under-der35 (BankART KAIKO, Yokohama, 2022), Ordinary Day (Amalove Art Lab A-lab, Hyogo, 2021), Trivial Anniversary (Lotte Gallery, Seoul, 2018), and Moving (YCC Gallery, Yokohama, 2017).
