Yoshizawa Takeshi
Yoshizawa Takeshi was born in Hyogo Prefecture and lives in Tokyo. He creates his own notebooks and jots down memos in his unique, densely-packed handwriting. These record his itinerary on sojourns outside and the company names he sees on billboards. The backs and covers of these notebooks are pasted with clippings from magazine and newspapers. When a notebook is full, Yoshizawa seals up the sides tightly with cellophane tapes so they can’t be opened. However, since his works have been introduced to the public, Yoshizawa has grown less reluctant to the idea of opening them up again, and he has consented to having the contents unsealed for exhibitions.
