
Tomotosi
Born in Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1983. After graduating from the Toyohashi University of Technology’s Civil Engineering Department, he was involved in architectural design and urban planning for several years until 2014, when he began to participate in art exhibitions. He mainly produces video works with the theme of “actions that transform human movement”. He has also been running the Tomo City Museum since 2020, proposing new ways of using the city. His main exhibitions include tttv (Chuo Honsen Gallery, 2018), Dig Your Dreams (Aichi Triennale 2019, Toyota City, 2019), Aerobic Pick-up (Saitama Prefectural Museum of Modern Art, 2019), Missing Sun [Art Competition 2021] (Yoyogi TOH, 2021), and Hopelessly Delayed Plan (TAV GALLERY, 2023). Notable awards include the WIRED CREATIVE HACK AWARD 2019, Runner-up Image Forum Festival 2019 (Audience Award) and the Daily Portal Z Newcomer Award 2020 (Excellence Award).
