Tamura Yuichiro

Born 1977 in Toyama Prefecture, lives in Kyoto. Creates works originating in existing images and objects. In a practice spanning multiple, diverse media, from photography and video to installation, performance and theater, inspired by a wide range of sources from location-specific historical themes to familiar elements of mass culture, Tamura constructs
multilayered narratives of intersecting fact and fiction. Most of his works are commissions, in recent years expanding to encompass dealing with items from museum collections. In 2024 he staged the exhibition ATM at Art Tower Mito.
