Tadahiko Ikegaki

Tadahiko Ikegaki was born in Kyoto-fu in 1955. After graduating high school, he lived in Mexico for 3 years before studying printing at Kyoto Saga University of Arts. In 1982, he exhibited his works at the 7th Bradford British International Print Biennale (UK). He also worked with 3D pieces made from sheet copper, winning the award for Best New Artist at the 10th Kyoto Prefectural Sculpture Exhibition (Kyoto Prefectural Center for Arts and Culture)in 1985. He has submitted work to “Art Now ’86” and held numerous solo exhibitions at galleries in Osaka and Kyoto. In 1989, he exhibited at “Intersection of Printing – Kyoto, 1989” (Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art) and the “3rd Osaka Triennale, 1992 – Sculpture”(where he won the Mainichi Broadcasting Award). In 2003, he exhibited at “Tagayasu Yoni -As if They Were Cultivated”(The Museum of Modern Art, Wakayama). He took a teaching position at Kyoto Seika University and in 2006, left Kyoto City University of Arts after completing all of the credits required for the Doctoral degree course. In 2009, he studied for 1 year at the Escola de la Llotja in Barcelona.
