Shilpa Gupta

Born in 1976, in Mumbai, India. Lives and works in Mumbai.

After completing her art degree in Mumbai, India, Gupta started working internationally in the 2000s. Interested in people’s identity, violence, and power differences, she has been working on a variety of media, including video, installation, and projects. she has also utilized interactive ways of expression, inviting the audiences to get involved in her art and making them aware of social issues, using her sharp sense of irony to reach critical points in such context.
