Shiga Toshihiko

Shiga Toshihiko was born in Kyoto. He lived and created at Shiragaki-Seinenryo, a welfare facility (run by Social Welfare Corporation Shigarakikai) in Koka, Shiga Prefecture. According to his mother, he frequently drew glasses like the ones she wears, which suggests he was probably depicting his own mother. Both ends of the paper are painted black, while the human-like faces resemble tea bowls with hair and big bulging eyes. Everything is painted in the same style, from upright elongated bodies to the arms and legs representing using simple lines.
