Sasaki Sanae

Sasaki Sanae was born in Iwate Prefecture. She creates art works as a member of Runbini Museum (run by Social Welfare Corporation Kourinkai) in Hanamaki, Iwate Prefecture. This exhibition features a picture made of squares and embroidered work. Some of Sasaki’s works feature red, blue and black. This color scheme originated from her use of a three-colored ballpoint pen found in the facility’s staffroom. The facility has set times for artistic activities, but Sasaki often continues drawing in her own room after bedtime. This shows how daily life and creation are deeply intertwined for Sasaki.
