Rashid Rana

Born in 1968, in Lahore, Pakistan. Lives and works in Lahore.

Rashid Rana completed his degree at the National College of Arts in Lahore and continued his study in art and fashion design abroad in USA. Through his works of art including two-dimensional pieces combining ready-made digital images, videos, and installations, Rana reveals contradictions between “the visible” and “the act of seeing,” as well as the hidden power structures within the two factors. His incredible skill of visualization led him to become a leading figure of contemporary art in Pakistan in our age where visual culture is superior.
