Oguni no Tamariba with Masano Nako
Oguni no Tamariba
Launched in 2022 by the Oguni Board of Education, this initiative aims to create a fun, welcoming drop-in space for all. On the second and fourth Tuesday of every month, participants gather for conversation and hands-on craftwork, with a primary focus on saki-ori (rag weaving).
Mashino Nako
An Oita-based textile artist, Mashino works with a wide variety of materials in dyeing and weaving, using these techniques as the foundation of her free-form sculptural creations. She also leads a broad range of workshops for all ages, from toddlers to the elderly. She lived in Oguni from 2000 to 2006, and has been supporting saki-ori weaving at Oguni no Tamariba since 2022.
