Man-Young Jung

Born in 1971 in Namhae. Graduated from the Department of Fine Art at the Faculty of Art at Pusan National University with a Major in Sculpture and earned a Master’s Degree in Advanced Artistic Expression from the Graduate School of Fine Art at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2010. A sound installation artist. Mainly produces works that reconfigure space and sound by collecting sounds from sites through field recording and connecting these sounds to their source in a new place. Recent private exhibitions include Diffraction (O’ Newwall-E’ Juheon; Seoul; 2016), and group exhibitions include PyeongChang Biennale 2017 (Green City Experience Center; Gangneung), ArtShowBusan2014: Art Accent (BEXCO; Busan; 2016), Soundscape of Bukchon (The Korean Culture Centers in London, Berlin, and Brussels; 2015), Changwon Sculpture Biennale 2014 (Masan Dotseom; Octagonal Pagoda; Changwon), Jirisan Art Project 2014 (Shilsangsa; Namwon), and ASYAAF 2014: New Drawing (Culture Station 284; Seoul).
