Kibushi Daisuke

Kibushi Daisuke was born in Niigata Prefecture and he lives in Miyagi Prefecture. He used to walk past an old cinema on the way to elementary school, so every day he would come across movie posters at the cinema or pasted on street corners. When graduated from junior high school and started working, Kibushi joined a welfare facility atelier and he began drawing real likenesses of old movie posters purely from visual memory. He can faithfully recreate all the details, from the title, composition and actors right down to the names of supporting actors and the film’s Eirin classification number. He continued to draw posters for 20 years until 2006, though he is no longer active.
