Kasumi Maeda

Born in 1991 in Tokyo. Completed a Master’s Program at the Faculty of Sculpture at the Musashino Art University Graduate School of Art and Design with a Major in Fine Art in the Sculpture Course.

In addition to sculptures with the motif of distant scenes, presents works about the imperfection and inability of the mody through video work involving the artist’s own body. Participated in a Residency Program at D.A.AURA (Korea) in 2019.

Main exhibitions include WALLAby (Tsutaya Ginza Book Store; Tokyo; 2020), Different Person (Geiyado 103; Ishikawa; 2019), Denchu Strut: Take Stars (Kodaira Hirakushi Denchu Art Museum Gallery; Tokyo; 2019), Sculpture and Conversation Methods IV: Stirred Intentions (Fuchu Art Museum Citizen’s Gallery; Tokyo; 2018), and the private exhibition Short Hand (“, Mushiro Tatoeteshimau” the continuous private exhibition project by Haruki Ohno, Kasumi Maeda, and Kazuki Oishi; mime; Tokyo Zokei University).
