Ito Mineo
Ito Mineo was born and lives in Fukushima Prefecture. He creates art works as a member of Regional Life Support Center Passo, a welfare facility (run by Social Welfare Corporation Asaka Aiikuen) in Koriyama, Fukushima Prefecture. His works feature endless iterations of his full name. His creative life began when his father taught him how to write his name in hiragana. After his father passed away, Ito had to sign several documents using kanji, so he practiced kanji too. Even after learning how to write his name in hiragana and kanji, Ito has continued to copy his name onto sheets of paper in densely-packed writing, with this act becoming a creative habit he maintains to this day.
