Ishino Keisuke
Ishino Keisuke was born and lives in Kagoshima Prefecture. He creates angular paper models of girls that contain influences from anime and gaming culture. After drawing his designs on the front and back of a piece of A4 photocopying paper, Ishino cuts out each part and wraps a band of paper around the sides. He then cellophane tapes the parts together to create the finished three-dimensional work. He works at a brisk pace and was once able to fabricate 4 to 5 figurines in a single day. He mainly worked from home when he made the works on display at this exhibition, though he now creates at Shobu Gakuen, a welfare facility (run by Social Welfare Corporation Taiyo-Kai) in Kagoshima, Kagoshima Prefecture.
