Hsieh Muchi

Hsieh Mu-Chi was born in 1981, Taipei, Taiwan and received a M.F.A. degree from Taipei University of the Arts, School of Fine Arts. He currently lives and works in Taipei. Hsieh’s artistic style incorporates painting, performance and photography, inquiring into the identity of the artist and the relationship between human beings and painting. His work invites audiences to appreciate a passion for painting as well as the humorous and mocking tones in his art practice. His previous major solo exhibitions include Unforgotten at Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, Taipei (2017) and Geophilosophical Mining at GAIART, Taipei (2016). Previous group exhibitions include Borders and Beyond at Lin & Lin Gallery, Taipei (2017), 2016 Taiwan Biennial: The Possibility of an Island at National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taichung, Taiwan (2016), Hyperactive Symptoms of Contemporary Art Taiwan at Art Cologne, Germany, The Twinkle World at Daegu Art Fair, South Korea, International Residency Exchange Programs at Silpakorn University, Thailand, MMCA Residency Goyang, South Korea and Artist-in-Residence Program at Pier-2, Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
