Enomoto Kazuko

1930|Hyogo – 2019|Aichi
Born in Hyogo and raised in Nagoya. In March 1949, shortly before graduating from the Kinjo Girls’ Vocational School, Enomoto was accepted for the first time into the Bijutsu Bunka Art Association Exhibition, where she met Abe Nobuya and later Takiguchi Shūzō. She relocated to Kyoto in 1951. In 1953, supported by a recommendation from Takiguchi, she held a solo exhibition at Takemiya Gallery. She then held a joint exhibition with Fukushima Hideko after meeting her through Abe. In 1957, Enomoto relocated to Tokyo. While experimenting with the application of various techniques on the surfaces of her paintings, she also explored Surrealist imagery. In 1964, she married the critic Tōno Yoshiaki and took a hiatus from producing art. After their divorce in 1970, she centered her art around an interest in mathematical studies.
